Traffic coming down Shelerin Road in direction of Clonsilla Village are currently distracted by a right green filter light to the Ongar Link Road which should display a 'grid' in front of it when this traffic does not have a green light. However, the 'grid' is not displaying, or certainly not displaying properly, with the result that cars travelling on the Shelerin Road towards Clonsilla Village are actually breaking the red light as they think they have a green light. This has led to a number of near misses, particular when traffic coming from either of the Lohundas (I am in Lohunda Park) has a green light. This problem should be fixed asap before there is a serious accident.
This problem with the traffic lights at the Shelerin Rood/Lohunda/Ongar Road junction has still not been fixed and is an accident waiting to happen. On two occasions last weekend I was exiting Lohunda Park by car, only to have to stop as a car travelling on the Shelerin Road in the Clonsilla direction drove straight through a red light. This is because the driver thought he actually had a green light, as a result of the confusing green light with a grid over it. This matter has got to the point of urgency as it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs here. This problem has not been fixed. Please attend to this matter. The problem will very easily be seen if Council staff observe the lights at this junction. Thank you.
This problem has NOT been fixed. There was a traffic accident at this junction yesterday 25 September 2018 where thankfully there were no fatalities. However, the attached photos show the severity of the impact, caused by a car travelling on the Shelerin Road in the Clonsilla direction driving straight through a red light (the driver assuming she had a green light), while a car was exiting from Lohunda Park on a green light. This problem MUST be fixed now before there is indeed a fatality or very serious injury. There is a potential negligence issue arising here.
