Illegal Posters

Reported in the Litter and Illegal Dumping category by Eileen Brannigan at 07:42, Wednesday 16 May 2018

Hi some illegal posters which come under Littering ban have gone up on Cloughjordan Main Street, one too close to our polling station: St. Michael's school. These are Referendum Posters displaying a graphic/scan of a baby in the womb and saying Don't Repeal Me. No legible group website or contact details or printer name on posters: by law under Littering Act they should display both, legible from the ground. They have a name: Love Both but that isn't enough under current legislation. Please remove as I don't want the fair, legal posters in this referendum to be undermined by illegal ones. I would also prefer my child not to see the graphic or get upset if I start trying to explain it to him.

  • There was no response whatsoever over the following two weeks. The posters are finally down NOW as they were removed AFTER the referendum, possibly by the people who illegally put them up, possibly by other volunteers. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of response.
