Sent to Mayo County Council 1 minute later
The bottom of our road meets a main road. there is zero visibility of on coming traffic coming from around the bend to the right. on approach to our road on both sides there are no road signs on the main road to denote our road entrance is there to warn drivers etc that there may be traffic trying to turn out onto the main road. from our side, when wanting to leave the house we have to use this end of our road as the other end is regularly blocked with fallen rocks from the stone walls either side. this caused a serious accident in january causing in total seven thousand euro worth of damage to my car. no on e seems willing to take responsibility for the road safety issues on this stretch of road
No roadsigns etc have been provided by the county council to denote the entrance to our road on either side (from Castlebar Town or Belcarra) or bollards to at least mark the entrance nor to warn that there are children crossing/ playing at the top of the hill at the houses. No measures seem to have been taken either to assure safety at the breaffy end re the continuous falling of rocks onto the road from the boundary walls, something which is of great concern to residents coming into periods of stormy weather.
