Broken traffic light at pedestrian crossing

Reported in the Road or path defects category anonymously at 09:27, Mon 10 June 2019
Sent to Laois County Council 2 minutes later

The traffic light/ signal at the pedestrian crossing on Main Street/ Stucker Hill (nearest bus stop/ shelter) has been out of action for a week now. This is an extremely busy road and is very difficult to cross without the crossing in working order, especially for young children and those less able.

Updates

  • Two weeks have passed and still no sign of this traffic light being repaired- very unsafe for pedestrians who try to cross this busy road.

  • This has been repaired at last, with new push button switches fitted. A little disappointed that there is no audible "beep" or signal when you press the button- makes it a little ambiguous especially for the visually impaired.
