When approaching the Airport Roundabout on the R132 from the North (from the Coachman's Inn) the delay after the previous Traffic Lights from the Airport direction goes Red is 7 seconds before these lights go Green. All other Traffic Lights at the Roundabout take 2 seconds. This means that traffic entering the Roundabout from the North is delayed by 5 seconds at EVERY light change (and the time on Green is quite short). There is often no traffic ahead on the Roundabout. Consequently traffic builds up unnecessarily approaching the Roundabout. This situation has prevailed since the upgrade of the Traffic Lights on the Roundabout many months ago and I assumed that it would have been reviewed by now.
The same problem still continues. A further problem was noted in that when the light goes to RED the light for traffic coming from the right goes GREEN immediately. It does not have the usual 2 second delay. This has the potential for causing accidents as the traffic already delayed for 7 seconds often is a bit tardy on stopping immediately on RED. Recentley poles have been erected to seperate the BUS LANE from the general traffic lane. IT WOULD HELP ALL IF THE 7 SECOND DELAY WAS CORRECTED.
Work has been done to section off the Bus Lane with posts but the Traffic Light sequence is still as reported.
The problem still exists. Unnecessary queues of cars are forming which could enter the empty road ahead on the Roundabout if the traffic lights were retimed to go to Green after a 2 second wait instead of an 8 second wait after the adjacent lights go to Red.
