Sent to Dublin City Council 2 minutes later
The roundabout and surrounding traffic islands at the bogies on Ratoath Road Cabra Dublin 7 covered with weeds dirt and grass,
They have never been cleaned and are scruffy and would certainly benefit from a good cleaning and possibly a touch up of some yellow and black paint to make them more visible and interesting.
All around the sides are full with weeds growing out of the walls and the islands themselves are in a disgraceful state for the want of a paint job. Do Dublin City Council not employ someone to keep an eye on these types of things or have they just lost all pride all together in keeping communities clean and up to standard.
A really busy junction in the heart of Cabra, The bogies roundabout and surrounding islands and it’s full of weeds growing out of the traffic islands the yellow and black paint is faded away and Dublin City Council have not done anything about this, Very disappointing.
My god I seen the road marking crew on Sunday evening on Ratoath road Cabra at the bogies roundabout and thought to myself the council are going to clean up the roundabout and surrounding islands and paint them up?? Not a chance in the world!!! They painted some lines at the new pedestrian lights at Colaiste mhuire on the other side of the roundabout, Now what is the point in having brand new lights and lines on one side of the roundabout and the rest of the roundabout and surrounding islands piggy dirty.
Filthy surrounding traffic islands as seen in the attached photo
No it’s still the same way, The traffic islands beside the main roundabout are scruffy and badly in need of a cleaning and painting of yellow and black paint on the pavement surrounding them.
This was reported in July and it’s still the same,
On the other side of the roundabout a new set of pedestrian traffic lights have been erected and a week ago the road markings crew were out marking up the road for the new lights,
And the yellow and black paint on the surrounding islands is almost non existent with weeds growing out of the walls of the islands and the cobblestone is like a mechanics workshop floor of a garage it’s that dirty,
I don’t ever recall seeing it being steamed washed in all of the time it’s being there,
It’s absolutely scruffy dirty,
All of the Schools that are in the proximity and the young people see this on a daily basis,
And so they grow up knowing no different and not having any pride in their community,
DCC should be a leading example,
If young people see the area kept well they won’t litter.
If the community is unkept it gives off a bad impression.
Still the exact same way scruffy with faded yellow and black worn markings
No action has been taken about this the place is in a terrible state.
Four months ago I reported this and not a thing has been done, No sorry one thing happened the flower pot display was removed because the flowers were dead, And that just made the place look worse, My god is there not an inspector from Dublin City Council who can call out and do a report on this because some of the islands are so badly faded with a lack of yellow and black markings and some just don’t have any, It’s shocking in the heart of Cabra.
No, Nothing has been done about this report, It’s a disgraceful state that these traffic islands are in.
No the black and yellow kerb markings have not been repainted and a terrible looking.
Nothing has been done about this report, This is still the same way scruffy way six months later. The black and yellow markings are badly faded and the new island outside of the old folks flats has not been marked by yellow and black markings, No pride.
