Road in bad repair, potholes and flooding.

Sent to South Tipperary County Council less than a minute later

This road is in a very bad state of repair as far as the N76 at Poulacapple. It is a very busy road and seems to be forgotten with regard to any worthwhile maintenance. It is a waste of time and money filling the potholes today when next week they are as bad again. The entire road needs to be resurfaced once and for all. It’s a danger to road users as we have no option but to travel on the wrong side of the road on bends to avoid potholes and flooding. Unnecessary damage is also being caused to our vehicles.

  • The photographs provided, after just two hours of rain, show how it is necessary to drive dangerously on the wrong side of the road, on the bend, to avoid flooding. Further along there is a sinking trench across the road, which was not repaired correctly following a water metre connection. Please also note more flooding further along, as well as very muddy verges. The road surface gets dangerously slippery when vehicles drive mud onto the road after having to pull in when meeting oncoming vehicles and trying to avoid flooding and potholes/sunken surface. This busy road needs repair without further delay before it causes anymore damage to our vehicles, not to mention the safety of its users.

  • The condition of the road has deteriorated even further after one night of rain. With flooded hollows and potholes and muddy verges, there is no room to pull aside when meeting oncoming traffic.
