Bags of Litter

Sent to Westmeath County Council 3 minutes later

I walked the supply from the dry-dock on the canal adjacent to the Harbour Bridge to Robinstown/Castlepollard road (R394) this morning, Friday 27th December 2019. There are seven (7) black sacks of rubbish in the Supply spread both sides of the bridge on Harbour Road or Martin’s Lane (depending upon which map you read!), beside the Oliver Plunkett Hurling Club grounds. These bags were not there yesterday morning (27th Dec, St. Stephen’s Day).

There are 4 swans living on this section of the Supply and the some of these bags are opening with the rubbish spilling out into the stream. This is a danger to the swans and other wild life in the areas as well as polluting the water.

Please action very promptly to deal with this litter. I have a number of pictures of same.
