Pedestrian crossing timing

Reported in the Road or path defects category anonymously at 22:12, Tuesday 11 February 2020
Sent to Dublin City Council 3 minutes later

Pedestrian green light lasts only 5 seconds. This is ridiculous at a busy junction where the pedestrians often have to wait for cars to clear the junction while the green man is up before they can even start to cross. There is no lag between the traffic red and the pedestrian green to allow for cars to clear. Lengthening the amber pedestrian light is not sufficient. There needs to be longer than 5 seconds on the green pedestrian phase.
