Road surface needs repair

Reported in the Road or path defects category by Tim O'Sullivan at 19:53, Fri 22 January 2016
Sent to Mayo County Council 2 minutes later

There is a very short part of the road between Ballygarries and Robeen cross roads that needs total resurfacing, it is a VERY short bit, but full of pot holes. Please don't just fill the holes with tarmac - this has been done several times and just gets washed away after a few weeks, it needs this short bit to be totally rebuilt.

  • I'm saying this has not been fixed. I asked that a short streatch of road be totally repaired not just the pot holes filled with tarmac, which is exactly what was done last week. Already the "fix" is being undone by the rain and frost. I believe that in a short few weeks if not days the pot holes will be as bad as ever. What a waste of time, effort and public money. Penny wise, pound foolish.

  • Well it only took two weeks to happen. Remember I said not to just put tarmac in the holes, and that is what Mayo Co Co did, well it's now totally undone (see photo). PLEASE re do this road, DONT fill in the holes like before, FIX IT PROPERLY. What a waste of time and money!

  • As I updated with photo the useless "fix" done has failed completely, the pot holes are back as good as ever. I don't see why this update is not sent to the council, if it's not then my update is useless!!!
